Indian Subcontinent Traveller Reviews - On The Go Tours

The first couple of days were very full. It might be worth doing two nights in Dambulla and taking in the national park close by, and reducing the time in Kandy to one night rather than two.

The hotel quality was generally excellent. The Mirissa hotel looked a bit worn but the location was perfect. ”

Most of the tour, in terms of itinerary, was spot on. We had lots of great guides.

I’m glad the tour ran as it was so we could do feel safe and secure in such a complex country. We had to learn about scammers, beggars and hawkers pretty quickly as we were obvious targets esp at places like Taj Mahal.

Most accommodation was good. Dome had amazing buffets (Royal Orchid, Radisson Park Inn.

DO NOT send clients to the Tigers Den

I’ll also reference in my email the tourist traps inc in the tour- carpet emporium. This was also appalling and soured our first day.

Our driver Paramjeet Singh was a legend and needs to be recognised for his exemplary service!!!”

We found Hema’s communication skills very poor, Often he was unable to answer our questions or we got no answer.

He was inconsistent from bright and smiley to dour and uncommunicative.

His knowledge of Sri Lanka was ok but he couldn’t convey it succinctly, the exception being the day he took us to the world’s oldest tree in Anuradhapura.

In the north he seemed unsure of the routes and doubled back several times.

As a final point and indicative of his interaction with us , after 10 days he had made no effort to know our names. ”
