Methodology:
Searching for the term ‘best festivals in the world’ revealed a number of seed lists from which we selected the following two, [1] [2], which show popular cultural festivals across the world. The top 30 festivals from this list were then transferred into this Google document and each of the festivals were searched for on Instagram which revealed the number of times the hashtag was used worldwide, which allowed the hashtags to be ranked from the most popular to the least. Thus revealing ‘The Cultural Festivals of The World According to Instagram’. All data is correct as of 17/08/2017.
