Itinerary

Day 1 - Victoria Falls

Upon arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, you'll be met and transferred to our hotel in the town of Victoria Falls. There is a pre departure meeting in the hotel foyer at 6pm. The rest of today is free for you to explore the town independently.

Day 2 - Free day in Victoria Falls

Today is free to spend at leisure. Be sure to visit the spectacular Victoria Falls (park entrance not included). which is without doubt one of the most spectacular sights in Africa! You can also browse the local markets for soapstone sculptures and enjoy a range of exciting activities which are available to book locally. From scenic helicopter flights over the falls to white water rafting and sunset cruises.

Days 3-4 - Chobe National Park

Victoria Falls - Kasane (Botswana). We cross into Botswana on day 3 and travel to our lodge on the banks of the Chobe River. The rest of the day is free to relax by the pool and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Look out for warthogs scurrying around the grounds!

Chobe is famous for its picturesque scenery, wonderful sunsets and abundance of wildlife. On day 4 we enjoy an early morning game drive in Chobe National Park and a sunset game viewing boat cruise on the Chobe River, spotting wildlife on the banks of the river.

Day 5 - Makgadikgadi Pans

Kasane - Nata Region. Today we travel to the Nata Region and visit the Makgadikgadi Pans. Situated North-East of Botswana, Makhadikgadi Pans is one of the largest salt flats in the world, extending from the Boteti River in the west to the Ntwetwe Pan in the East. Here we take in the beautiful sunset over the remains of an ancient 6500km2 lake.

Day 6 - Mapesu Private Game Reserve

Nata - Mapesu Private Game Reserve (South Africa). We travel through Botswana today and cross the Limpopo River into South Africa. We spend the next two nights at a lodge in Mapesu Private Game Reserve on the border of Mapungubwe National Park. Mapungubwe National Park and Mapungubwe Hill is at the centre of the World Heritage Landscape where the first southern African kingdom was established in the 13th Century, it's also famous for its San rock art sites.

Day 7 - Mapungubwe National Park

We take a scenic morning walk to view the remarkably well-preserved Kaoxa Bushman paintings today and in the afternoon enjoy a sunset game drive in Mapungubwe National Park. Look out for wildlife in the park and take in spectacular views over the Baobab laden landscape.

Day 8 - Blyde River Canyon

Mapesu Private Game Reserve - Hazyview. We travel south today, along the beautiful Panorama Route to Kruger National Park. On our journey we visit Bourkes Luck Potholes and see the beautiful Blyde River Canyon, one of South Africa’s remarkable natural sights. The canyon is 26km long, averages 800m deep and forms the northern edge of the Drakensberg Mountain Range. At God's Window we take in the breath-taking view across the canyon and surrounding area. Late afternoon we arrive at our lodge where we'll spend the next 3 nights.

Days 9-10 - Kruger National Park

Kruger is the largest game reserve in South Africa and it's home to the Big Five, as well as numerous other species of fauna and flora. On day 9 we have an exciting full day game drive inside the park in open 4x4 vehicles, going in search of the Big Five.

The following day is free to relax before we head out on a late afternoon game drive inside the park in open 4x4 vehicles. As the heat reduces we're likely to enjoy sightings of more active animals in the park.

Day 11 - Travel to Johannesburg

Hazyview - Johannnesburg. We travel to Johannesburg today, South Africa's biggest city and capital of its inland. Upon arrival spend the remains of the day at leisure.

Day 12 - Johannesburg

Our incredible adventure comes to an end after breakfast. A departure transfer to O.R Tambo International Airport is included.

Located just 1.4km from Victoria Falls, you're able to see the spray from the hotel when the falls are in full flood. Rooms are comfortable, boasting queen-sized beds, ensuite bathrooms, a safe and climate control. Wi-Fi is available in all areas of the hotel, including outside on the sun terrace. There's a buffet breakfast at the onsite restaurant, and you can also enjoy meals outside by the pool, and enjoy a drink at either of the two bars.

The tented camp is tucked away on a hillside, providing wonderful panoramic views of the reserve. At the lodge you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the pool and watch a spectacular sunset with a drink in hand from the bar. The lodge has a fine dining restaurant and free WiFi is available.

Hippo Hollow Country Estate is a family-friendly hotel located on the banks of the Sabi River on the edge of the Kruger ecosystem. Accommodation is in thatched chalets and traditional standard rooms. Set amongst well-maintained gardens (often with visitors in the form of elephants and other wildlife), there are two outdoor swimming pools and an onsite restaurant with views of a popular hippo gathering spot.
