Sweden Tours & Package Trips
Combine Sweden with Finland, Norway, Denmark and the Baltics for a magical adventure in northern Europe!
Stockholm is renowned as one of the best cities to visit in Europe, clean and modern with a plethora of attractions. Known by many as 'Venice of the North', the city is built across 14 islands and is split between the historic Gamla Stan cobbled old town, and the more modern areas of the city. Gothic architecture, a delightful harbour and a diverse array of bars, restaurants and cafes mean it's the perfect city in which to spend a few days!
Our Sweden tours all visit Stockholm, with a great mix of guided sightseeing and free time to explore at leisure. They also take in other highlights, including the riverside city of Karlstad. And they combine Sweden with it's neighbours. To the west lies Norway and Denmark is to the south. East is Finland, plus Poland and the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. How many countries will you tick off on your Sweden trip?
Sweden Tours
Our Sweden group tours take in the best of the country and its Nordic neighbours. With guided sightseeing in Stockholm and other cities such as Oslo, Copenhagen and Bergen, you will uncover the best of the region. These tours vary in style, some with semi-independent arrangements and some are escorted by an English-speaking tour leader, staying in well-located, modern 3-4 star hotels. We also make use of ferries on many tours, including some overnight crossings, for example between Stockholm and Helsinki.

Frequently asked questions about our Sweden trips
Will I visit Stockholm on your Sweden trips?
You will! All of our Sweden tours visit Stockholm, and the majority either start or end in the Swedish capital. Whilst in Stockholm you will enjoy a mixture of guided city sightseeing and free time to explore your own way. On some tours there is also an included cruise on the Royal Canal, a great way to see the sights of the city from the water. Whichever of our Sweden tours you book, you'll experience the full majesty of this fantastic European destination.
How big are the groups on these Sweden tours?
Our group tours in Sweden have a maximum group size of 30 passengers, though this can fluctuate and groups tend to be smaller outside of the peak season.
When is the best time to visit Sweden?
Being such a northern country, Sweden has a cool climate, and the winter months from October - April are cold and dark. Stockholm does still make a great festive city break destination, but for warmer weather and longer, brighter days of exploration, we recommend visiting Sweden in the summer months, from April - September.
What standard of accommodation is included in your Sweden packages?
On our Sweden trips, we stay in a mixture of modern, well-located 3-4 star hotels with plenty of amenities. On some trips, you will also experience overnight ferries, for example from Stockholm to Helsinki. These are included in the price of your tour, and are clearly marked on our itineraries, so you know whether or not your trip will include an overnight ferry crossing.
Will I be escorted by a tour guide in Sweden?
Yes! We offer escorted group tours in Sweden, so a local tour leader will accompany you throughout your trip. For included sightseeing, you will also enjoy the services of professional local English-speaking guides, who will be able to share the history and stories of each attraction with you.
Is Sweden a safe destination for travellers from the LGBTQ+ community?
According to the 2023 LGBTQ+ Travel Safety Index, Sweden scores an A rating for LGBTQ+ traveller safety, ranking 2nd out of 203 countries.
Same sex marriage is legal, and there are broad worker and constitutional protections for all citizens based on their sexual orientation. Hate crime is criminalized and 76 – 100% of consulted citizens consider Sweden a good place to live for gay and lesbian people. There are no legal punishments for same sex relations and most trips for LGBTQ+ travellers to Sweden are trouble-free.
The LGBTQ+ Travel Safety Index is designed to provide a good overall picture of attitudes towards the LGBTQ+ community in each country and may not reflect the experience of foreign travellers to the country.
Can I drink the tap water?
The tap water in Sweden is some of the cleanest in Europe and is perfectly safe to drink throughout the country. Why not bring a re-usable water bottle on tour with you? This will save you money on bottled water, and will help you to reduce your plastic footprint.
What is the currency in Sweden?
The currency in Sweden is the Swedish Krona (SEK). Check OANDA for the latest exchange rates.
What is the current travel advice for Sweden?
As a UK-based tour operator, we follow the travel advice of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCDO). You can see the most up to date advice for Sweden travel here.
