Discover some of Shanghai's most famous and intriguing sites on this Full Day Shanghai City tour. Stroll through the magnificent Yu Garden, marvel at the two Jade Buddha statues at the most popular Buddhist Temple in the city, visit a silk factory, admire colonial-era buildings at the Bund, and explore trendy Xintiandi and the French Concession.

Our day begins at the peaceful Yu Garden, a classical Suzhou-style Garden located in the Old Town of Shanghai. Built during the Ming Dynasty, the garden is known for its stunning traditional Chinese landscaping, including pavilions, rockeries, ponds, and intricate pathways. The garden provides a serene escape from the bustling city and a glimpse into ancient Chinese architecture and design.

Next stop is Jade Buddha, the most famous Buddhist Temple in Shanghai. Attracting both worshippers and tourists, the temple is famous for its two jade Buddha statues. The reclining Buddha and the seated Buddha are both carved from pure white jade and are remarkable works of art. The temple complex is known for its classical Chinese architectural style and peaceful ambiance.

We'll then head to a silk factory to learn about the intricate art of silk production, for which China is renowned. You'll have the opportunity to see the silkworm rearing process, silk weaving, and learn about the history and significance of silk in Chinese culture. It's a chance to appreciate the craftsmanship behind this ancient textile.

After lunch at a local restaurant, we'll head to the Bund, a historic waterfront area along the Huangpu River, known for its iconic colonial-era architecture. The buildings along the Bund were once the headquarters of major banks and trading houses in the early 20th century. It offers breathtaking views of the modern skyline across the river in Pudong, making it a must-visit location.

Next, head to Shanghai Xintiandi, where 'yesterday meets tomorrow in Shanghai today.' A trendy and vibrant district, Xintiandi combines traditional Shanghainese architecture with modern amenities. It's known for its chic restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops housed in restored traditional Shikumen-style buildings. The area provides a unique blend of old and new and is fascinating to explore.

Our last stop of the day is the French Concession, a historic district that was once under French colonial influence. Stroll through its tree-lined streets and admire its architecture - a harmonious blend of Chinese and Western styles. This unique area truly offers a glimpse into Shanghai's cosmopolitan past and its rich cultural heritage.
