Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome

Welcome to Denmark! Upon your arrival in Copenhagen, make your own way to the hotel or contact us to pre-book an airport transfer.

During your stay, take advantage of your Hop On Hop Off bus ticket, allowing you to explore Copenhagen's public transport network and visit various museums throughout the city. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure, exploring the city and its attractions.

Day 2 - Captivating Copenhagen

Today is yours to explore at leisure. Take full advantage of your hop-on hop-off bus and boat ticket to experience Copenhagen's rich history and vibrant atmosphere. Visit iconic landmarks such as the famous Little Mermaid statue, the rococo-style Royal Palace Amalienborg, and the impressive Christiansborg Palace. Wander through Nyhavn, once a bustling commercial port and now a charming waterfront area popular with tourists. Don't miss house number 20, once home to the renowned writer H.C. Andersen. Perhaps opt to join our Classic Canal tour.

How you choose to explore is entirely up to you!

Day 3 - Onward to Oslo

Copenhagen - Overnight Cruiser. Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and spend the morning at leisure.

In the late afternoon, you'll be transferred to the cruise terminal to embark on an overnight journey to Oslo. Relax as dinner is served on board. You will be in an interior b-class cabin, with the option to upgrade to an A-Class Seaview cabin for an enhanced experience. Settle in and enjoy your evening aboard the cruise before arriving in Oslo the next day.

Day 4 - Welcome to Oslo

Overnight Cruiser - Oslo. Early this morning, you will arrive in Norway, home to some of the most beautiful fjords on Earth! Enjoy breakfast on the cruise before disembarking.

After checking into your hotel, take some time at your leisure to explore the city. Wander along the streets of Oslo, visit the royal family's residence, and stroll down Karl Johan’s Street, which is lined with shops, bars, and cafes.

At 17:00, meet your Tour Leader at the hotel reception for an informative meeting about the tour.

Day 5 - The Flamsbana Railway

Oslo - Flam - Voss. This morning we depart Oslo and travel towards the beautiful fjord area of Norway. On this scenic drive we pass Lake Tyrifjord which is one of the largest lakes in Norway and plays an important role for resting migratory birds of many species. We continue driving through the magnificent Hallingdal Valley towards the picturesque village of Flam.We arrive into the picturesque village of Flam just after lunch time. Here we have a short break before boarding the famous Flamsbana. Flamsbana is one of the steepest trainlines in the world and our journey takes us through spectacular scenery, past the Rallar road, rugged mountains and breathtaking waterfalls; passing through 20 tunnels en route to the mountain railway station of Myrdal, approx. 13km away, before returning to Flam.

After the train ride there's free time in Flam. Time permitting, you have the opportunity to sail through Sognefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Please note, this add on includes a return ticket on the Floibanen Funicular on Day 6 and the Briksdal Troll Cars on Day 7.

Day 6 - Brilliant Bergen

Voss - Bergen. This morning travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Listed city of Bergen. Meeting a local guide upon arrival for a sightseeing tour of the city. Taking in key sites such as the Hanseatic Bryggen, with the church of Mary, the Hakon Fortress and the famous fish market. In Bergen there's an optional visit the Floibanen Funicular which travels to the top of Mount Floien where you can really admire Bergen - the city of seven hills.

Day 7 - The Briksdal Glacier

Bergen - Sognefjord - Briksdal Glacier - Loen. After breakfast we board the coach and travel north, crossing the famous Sognefjord from Oppedal to Lavik. Sognefjord is Norway's longest and deepest fjord, stretching 204kms inland from the coast. Our journey today takes us to the famous Briksdal Glacier, nestled between thundering waterfalls and towering peaks. Briksdalsbreen is an arm of the great Jostedalsbreen Glacier which is located in Jostedalsbreen National Park. From 1200 meters this spectacular glacier plunges down into the beautiful Briksdalen Valley. Explore the Briksdalen Valley on foot or ride one of the 'Trollcars' up to the glacier - at an additional cost. Then we travel on to the village of Loen for the night.

Day 8 - Cruising the fjords

Loen - Geiranger Fjord - Troll's Road - Molde. We travel on to Geiranger this morning where we board a sightseeing cruise on the Geiranger fjord - one of the most impressive and narrow fjords of Norway. The fjord is dominated by a huge vertical rock face with cascading waterfalls including the famous ' Seven Sisters' and the 'Veil of the Bride'.

After the cruise we continue our journey north, passing along the famous Eagle Road, an incredibly steep stretch of road up the mountainside from Geiranger towards Eidsdal. The road swings through 11 hairpin bends from Geiranger fjord up to the highest point 620m above sea level at Korsmyra, where eagles can often be spotted. After a short ferry crossing from Eidsdal to Linge we reach the Troll's Road, an exhilarating road with astonishing views and 11 hairpin bends that descend the mountain. Then another short ferry crossing takes us from Vestnes before arriving into Molde.

Day 9 - The Atlantic Road

Molde - Atlantic Road - Oppdal. We enjoy a ride along the Atlantic Road today before continuing our journey south to Oppdal. Bridging land and sea this incredible winding road in the ocean connects island to island with a series of seven bridges. This true masterpiece of engineering was voted the 'work of art of the century' by the Norwegians and it's one of the world's most beautiful road trips.

Day 10 - Lillehammer & Oslo sightseeing

Oppdal - Oslo. Today we return to Oslo, stopping en route in Lillehammer - the host of the 1994 Winter Olympics. Here there's some free time to explore the Olympic City. We continue our journey, travelling along the shore of Lake Mjosa, Norway's largest lake. Arriving back into Oslo this afternoon we meet a local guide for a 3 hour sightseeing tour of the city. Highlights include the impressive Frogner Park with 212 sculptures made by Gustav Vigeland, the Arkershus fortress, City Hall and the magnificent Royal Palace.

Day 11 - Oslo to Stockholm

Oslo - Stockholm. Today, we disembark towards the fabulous capital of Sweden, Stockholm. Please note, this tour is semi-independent in style from days 8 - 10, you will not be escorted by a tour guide in Stockholm.

After breakfast, the guide will walk with you to the station where you will take the highspeed train (unescorted) to Stockholm, a vibrant city surrounded by almost 25,000 small islands.

Upon arrival walk to hotel and check in, you can spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Walk along the main streets and explore the city of the royal family! Be sure to check out Drottninggatan (Queen Street), Stockholm's main shopping district, lined with shops, bars and cafes.

Day 12 - Royal Canal Cruise

This morning, you will take a taxi transfer to a nearby boat port and board a Royal Canal Cruise. During this exciting cruise, you will learn about the city and its long history. Stockholm is filled with grand buildings, palaces and a rich cultural history that dates back 700 years! Often, Stockholm is referred to as 'beauty on water' or 'Venice of the North,' and this cruise will show you why. The city is built upon 14 islands and is surrounded by the beautiful Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea.

After the cruise, feel free to explore the city and make your own way back to the hotel afterwards.

Day 13 - Goodbye

Our tour ends after breakfast. Depending on your flight details, you can still enjoy some last-minute shopping for Swedish souvenirs, walk along the streets and explore the city, shop for design-wares, admire gothic churches and check out the many bars and cafes that line the streets.
