some of the accomodations were not good. cold rooms lukewarm showers, food poor quality, overall I would not recommend this tour group. communication was poor with tour group. We were almost stranded waiting to be picked up. One boat ride tour never picked us up, no call no communication.”

The tour went great and we got exactly what we expected. Our guide, Christina was amazing and so was the bus driver. The bus was very nice but after a day or so the seats became uncomfortable. The hotels were nice but never in town to do something. The food got very boring and repetitive at hotels. ”

This tour was well paced and covered some very interesting sites in this part of Spain. Antonio was a knowledgable and considerate guide and he gave us very good advice on where to find good food during our breaks. Highlights were the basilica and museum at Monserrat, the Pyrenees, and Burgos.”

Overall, hotels were very good. But two: hotel in Fatima (I believe Estrela de Fatima) had severe odor problems in the rooms and the hotel in Lisbon (I believe VIP Executive Entrecampos) was horrendous on crowds at breakfast - total chaos and overcrowding; also more focused on Portuguese speakers.”  

Our guide, ryhad was great. The local guides also did a nice job on the tours. The bus driver, Antonio did a marvelous job. The bus was clean and comfortable. All the hotels we stayed at were very nice. The locations could have been better or closer to the points of interest. ”  

While the guide (Christina) was great this tour was not. It was simply outsourced and outsourced again, a mix of various tours, huge numbers of people (59 on one day, well over the amount in the trip notes) terrible hotel in Athens away from the centre, would likely not use on the go again”  

The tour representative met us on arrival and gave excellent presentation for the tour.

The tour guide also gave clear instructions and the itinerary for the day with a delightful sense of humour.

The guide/driver were excellent. Good fun, informative and helpful. The tour was well organised, It was suitably busy and gave a good understanding of Sicily. It was enjoyable! The only negative was that breakfast facilities in the Mercure hotel in Palermo were not suitable for the numbers using them”  

I loved Amaya our guide, she was thoughtful, helpful and shared loads of information with us.

I was very surprised to find out that this was not operated by ‘On the go’. I was not happy about going to Carcares. It seemed like this was just to pick up extra people. ”  

Overall happy, but we were disappointed that none of the accommodations offered Acropolis or sea views mentioned. After the return from Delphi/Meteora, we were put off the bus onto the metro after 2 hours in the city, we could easily have walked in 30 mins or got a metro at the start of the 2 hours”  

A 4 day tour with 7 days worth of side trips and lots of middlemen. The logistics worked well: taxis and minibuses arrived when they should, but I wouldn't wish Santorini on my worst enemy and the Zakanthos cruise was a shambles.”  

The only part I didn’t like was the train. The cabins and food are not even 1 star. And you can’t sleep because the train drivers dont know how to drive the train. The carriages run in and out banging whenever the driver applied the brakes. So nobody got any sleep. ”  

The tour was really enjoyable with a group of wonderful people , people and captain. All we could have wished for.

Cruising around was safe and all of the places we stopped at were great. Cabin was larger than the bedroom we stayed in at the hotel in Split before we departed. Would travel again.”  

From buying the tour to very end of travel, ESPECIALLY our tour guide was awesome. Even sent a separate e-mail saying that our tour guide Stefan was spectacular.

The only downside was "Hotel Cabin"s room size in Rejkjavik. they were uncomfortably small.”  

The Sardinia tour was great. The lodging accommodations were excellent, the tour itself was equally excellent (great meals) and our guide, Rossella was fantastic ”

I had an amazing time. This was an action packed tour which was perfect for the short time I had available.

I was able to see so many highlights of Italy.

The tour guide, Niki was lots of fun. She was very knowledgeable and kept us all organsied and safe.

We had a fantastic time for 2 weeks. A great combination of activities and locations.

The only day we did not like was the 1 day cruise of Hydra, Poros, and Aegina. There was barely any time on those islands; most of our time was spent on an incredibly overloaded ferry where fights almost broke out”  

The main tour was good however either end of the tour I was badly organised. I was not picked up on time on 3 occasions, the last pickup I was missed completely and they had to get me a taxi causing the whole day to be running late, wasting tickets I purchased separately as it was too late.”  

Accomodation: it was 2-3

Food: buffets just satisfactory. Have more sit down meals for the evening. I know there is likely a cost factor.

We were delighted with our tour. Everything went smoothly from the reservation to the whole tour. The whole package met our expectations and we greatly appreciated our guide Russ who took good care of us and his knowledge (very interesting). Breakfast in two of the hotels was a bit disappointing.”

This was definitely a tour that is affected by weather so I think this would be a good thing to note for future tours. We were affected by the wind and our itinerary had to change a fair bit. The extra costs on board the boat were also quite high. ”

The sail trip was great the Katarina crew fabulous but the Tour Guide was not good. He set up the WhatsApp group and then did the bare minimum. He was not around at all. At lunch he gave us a bit of a talk re destination but that was it. ”  

Not satisfied with the quality of hotels except for Hyatt regency. No communication when we arrived as to what to expect. Once we left Madrid we had no guide accompanying us. The driver was inexperienced and had no knowledge of the places he was taking us to. Also drove too fast for safety.”

I very much enjoyed the tour and the areas covered during the trip. It was a good blend of experiences. It was disappointing however that we did not cover the Roman Aquaduct in Sergovia. Our guide Lucy was good and provided excellent information most of the time. ”

Onur was a fantastic tour guide and Harkan a great driver. Nothing was ever too much trouble for either of them and Onur's knowledge of Turkey and it's history was incredible. ”  

Thor the guide was really personable and provided a great mobile commentary in the bus as well as on-site of the various stops made. The tour itself was a great overview of all the major tourist sites in particular the Ice Cave adventure. ”  

The tour was good and the two guides were excellent, Ellie for the Athens city tour and Stevie for the rest of the tours in Corinth, Peloponnese, Olympia, Delphi, & Meteora. The Polis Grand hotel was not a good hotel.”

Guide even said, welcome to the 3 day tour. Need to be more clear when selling this tour. Otherwise great.”  

Worst booked tour my wife and I have taken.

We had 6 different guides, some of which could barely speak English. Too may long bus rides with short tours. Too much free time without suggestions on what to see ”  

1) The tour guide Spanish pronunciations of English were hard to understand. Better with Spanish people. Ex: canal pronounced like candle.

2) Chaotic bus transfer with luggage in Pompeii.

3) Hotel in Florence had terrible room design. Nearly fell w/step down.

4) Hotel Vesuvio was excellent. 5 star”  

We had a wonderful time in Turkey, loved the food loved the people, loved the shopping, we will be back in the near future. ”  

We had a fabulous time touring the islands of Croatia. Accommodations were great and crew were helpful and fun. Only criticism is tour director Boris was obviously burned out. Other than that we had a great ”  

We had an amazing experience! Our guide, Stevie, was funny, informative, knowledgeable, a safe driver, and you could tell he loves his country and its history. We saw so many beautiful sights and weren't rushed a each stop. The accommodations were clean and very comfortable, with friendly staff. ”  

Our Tour guide was fabulous.

Separately, I'm not sure how well the communications across various providers went as we were taken to the wrong hotel in Orkney then on the list for the outer Hebrides Tour. It felt very clunky overall.

Great tour overall. Improvements to consider - There was no orientation meeting. The Douro river cruise was overcrowded, raining and we did not know about the audio tour. The Fado dinner was awful (no choices given). More time in Rhonda. ”  

Rep sold me a yacht tour waste of time think he wanted commissions. The boat shouldn't even of left the harbor as the water was choppy not safe. Ended up getting severely sea sick, a continuation of vertigo my entire time in Santorini. ”  

Great chance to see unique towns & attractions. The archeological Roman ruins & the vineyard were superb. Daniel and Cristian were both great! My negative is that this is a much more ambitious tour than expected—lots of climbing, hiking and walking down a very steep cliff. Loved the small group.”  

This was an excellent tour. Accommodation great. Departure times relaxed. Bus and driver both wonderful. Our guide Eva was an absolute gem. Full of information on what to do, suggestions for dinner etc. When we had bus issues it was handled professionally. Eva was absolutely wonderful.”  

Tour guide average(rambling delivery of history of Turkey/sights difficult to follow/absorb) Would cut shop stops in Cappadocia & max time to explore area. Nice surprise-dinners were included as an upgrade. Hotels great-except in Cappadocia (ants). Dep airport transfer-could align to group's flights”  

The tour was definitely fast paced. We saw a lot which is great. The only problem we had, was that Carani Tours did not receive the info from On The Go that said we need a twin room. Our guide had to contact all hotels to arrange for the correct type of room for us.”  

The guide in the Baltics (Janis) was excellent. (The guide in Finland failed to meet the group at the ferry. The next afternoon, she failed to escort the group on an optional excursion.) Many places are closed on Mondays, so arriving in Vilnius and ferrying to Helsinki would be better on Mondays.”  

Loved this tour. Guide went out of her way for everyone. She knew the best times of arrival.

Hotels were excellent

The food was delicious, full of variety (Take off your trip notes that one can only eat fish and lamb - not true. Best Gluten Free bread & food.)

The communication with the tour company was very poor. We were given the wrong meeting time. By phone we were told the final hotel and we booked additional nights, but it was changed making us change hotels. The food was not wonderful. We skipped it one night. Will not be using On The Go Tours”

Driver was awesome. We didn’t have a guide, we had a tour director which meant we were plonked in the main square and told to explore. Fado night food/service was appalling, fish stew full of bones and no taste. Accom at Fátima terrible, small double bed, feet hung off and roll away single bed.”  

Itinerary good. Disappointed about the lack of time/interest in visiting The Guggenheim Gallery.

Updates for the group were almost nonexistent, very confusing. My group started with 32 person Welcome Dinner, 16 person city tour, then a 3 person tour with only hard to understand Driver.”  

Tour guide inexperienced leaving at 10 am in the morning meant later arrival to next hotel 7,830,930 pm too late. We were not given hotel names in advance with our booking for family to be able to contact us in an emergency. We didn’t know hotel names during your until we arrived at hotel. ”  

I was picked up at Stop 1 by Matalio. He was welcoming, polite and friendly. He did a fantastic job driving for the entire tour. He was helpful and informative and went above and beyond to help.

The tour was spectactular. The views and destinations were all amazing. Was an unforgetable holiday.”  

The tour guide is also the driver which Made it difficult to understand or learn what he was providing information on as his focus is on driving and keeping us safe. Secondly the initial bus the speaker wasn't working so we had waste time waiting for a new bus to arrive. The tour mentioned chasing northern light but we were left unaccompanied to go look for them in Hella and ddnt even know what to look for in the sky as to the naked eye the ligjts are not visible I was given info from a fellow tourist on the trip. A separate tour guide is needed to take you out to sites and explain not sit on the bus and expect tourists to go out not understanding what was pointed out as it was only mentioned in the bus. ”  

The tour was just average, food was very disappointing, cheap quality and out of the way locations but still expensive. Would definitely have preferred stopping in towns where there was choice. The dinners at the hotels were also only average at best.”  

We were disappointed with the location of our hotels. The hotels were away from the main areas we wished to visit and required us to either catch a taxi or some other transport to get back to our hotel at the end of the day. Only 2 of the hotels were close to the main tourist attractions. The hotels were generally a very good standard.

We felt the tour leader could have provided more information on things to look at in our allotted free time, instead it required research by ourselves on the internet either before arriving at each location or while we were actually at the town. The tour leader would read a small amount from his phone giving facts about each town before we arrived at every town. It sounded like he was just reading from Wikipedia. We were told to "go and wander" in our free time. The tour leader was a great guy, but we felt he could have given more practical tips on different options on eating out.

Perhaps more optional tours could be offered to make better use of free time.

One of the nights included a dinner while watching a Fado show. The "fish" dinner was hardly edible, and the service was very slow, so much so that we had to quickly gulp down desert, so our bus driver didn't go over his hours of driving for the day.

Our bus driver did an amazing job weaving his way through the traffic and parking in some very tight spaces.

This was our second On the Go tour and I think it may be the last!”  

Yusuf, the tour guide, was terrific. He had exceptional knowledge of all aspects of the tour. He is also a great storyteller and provided intricate insight into the history and culture of times gone by and how Turkiye came to its current point of arrival.

The Double Tree Hilton in Istanbul was very disappointing. It was nowhere near a specific area that we could walk to, and the service within the hotel was, quite frankly, abysmal. I am in the travel industry and a Hilton Honors member and I cannot remember the last time I experienced such a poor service culture.

The tour itinerary was great; however, we were unaware that we were joining other tours, which was confusing. It seemed we had been corralled, and people split from our group at different times. Another aspect was that others in the group had different interests, which was fine for the most part. However, joining us with people on a religious/church tour in Turkiye may not have been something we felt comfortable with or shared the same interests. ”  

The tour was great and the locations visited amazing - the guide was very knowledgeable and helpful . We did spend too long at places such as the leather factory and carpets which eroded time spent at the historical sites which was frustrating and disappointing and meant we were always running behind. Also the lunch stops at restaurants took a long time and again eroded valuable time at the various sites which meant we always arrived late at our hotels and often had no free time. In your notes you said that we needed cash and to have Euro however everywhere took card (including taxis) and US is favoured over Euro - there is no need for cash apart for the optional excursions and kitty. Some hotels didn't offer water with dinner which seemed 'cheap' (better to add to the tour cost and include so people don't feel cheated). Having said all this overall it was a great itinerary and everything on it we did. ”  

Overall we enjoyed the trip but have a few comments as to why we didn't rate it higher.

1. The land based (bus) part of the trip was stated to have maximum of 25 people and there were 53! Every single seat on the bus was taken and it was way too big a group for the tour guides. Why was this allowed?

2. The travel time between the land based destinations was too long. I should have read how long the bus rides would be (one was 5 hours) and had I know would not have booked that 3-day land based part of the tour.

3. The Adriatic Princess ship that we stayed on for the 7 day Croatia cruise was very dated. We saw other ships of a similar size that had much newer accommodations (state rooms as well as shared areas on boat.)

That being said the trip manager on the ship (Elite travel) was excellent as was the rest of the crew. They were all very helpful.

We enjoyed seeing all the sites on the tour and liked having 5 nights to get dinner on our own while in port.

4. The ship did not allow us to charge our excursions or drink tab on a credit card which was very inconvenient as we had to go into town and find a bank. That was not mentioned in the itinerary. We knew that tips needed to be in cash but nothing else was mentioned.”  

Having Yusaf as our tour guide made the tour outstanding because of his in-depth knowledge of history and archaeology.

We thoroughly recommend this tour for others.”  

Tour guide Nebo, was excellent. Informative, patient, helpful. Best guide I’ve had. Driver Sasha was also excellent. I did not like that the guide or driver did not stay in same hotel as us. I did not like that some people stayed in a different hotel. Added extra time wasted in having to go to two hotels. A couple of dinners would have been nice. When we did have one group dinner, the others in the superior hotel group did not join us. Not good. Wasting time (1.5) hours at border control annoyed me, although that is out of your control. We missed an item on the itinerary because we arrived late at hotel. Went to bed without dinner that night. I did a tour with On the Go several years ago and it was great. After this tour I would probably not go with your tour company again. Again, I was very happy with the guide and driver. ”

The cruise did not meet our expectations. The boat Spalato has seen better days. The cabin below deck smelled like diesel fuel and at times sewer. We received no assistance getting onboard or instructions as to the procedure.

We understand that it’s ‘safety first’ when the weather is bad and our itinerary changed and we skipped all islands on the first day, sailing directly from Split to Dubrovnik. On the way back they tried to squeeze in all missed. Islands which meant limited time on some and extra time on others. We did not have the opportunity to stop at Zlatni Rat Beach on Brac but instead sailed directly back to Split arriving early at 10am. Weather was not a factor that day.

There was never any afternoon tea or coffee set up. Just a coffee dispenser which we had to figure out on our own. Crew were somewhat indifferent when it came to serving drinks.

The crew didn’t seem to pay attention to passengers needs.

Overall we were disappointed that this experience did not live up to our expectations. ”  

The tour of the Scottish Highlands was all that we hoped for. Duncan, our guide was knowledgeable in the history and geography of the region. He also had just the right blend of information, music and humour (we had to be on our toes to sort out the tall tales). He is proud of the company he works for because of their total support of their guides. The coach was in excellent condition, cleaned daily and was the perfect size at 16 seats to afford attention to each of the guests. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the tour to anyone. ”  

On first checking in I immediately thought “we must be on the wrong boat” as it was not at all as pictured or described on your website. We had a tiny cabin with the bed against the wall meaning one of us had to climb over the other to get in/out bed. We had a tiny en-suite, the boat was old & in need of maintenance. There was a problem with the plumbing & one morning we woke up to our shower full of dirty waste water. The boat was also small, which once again was not as described on your website. The crew were nice but not professional for example they did not wear uniforms like the other boats and they ate & drank in the main area while we were still there. Everyone on our boat was disappointed with the small, smelly & dirty cabins & ensuites, however, no one else paid anything like the amount that we paid. It was ONLY the scenery & the other passengers that made this trip worthwhile.

The food was mostly good but because of how dirty things were it wasn’t appealing. The itinerary got changed every day due to weather but not sure if this small boat was affected more because of its size.

The overall tour was very good. There is room for improvement. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and some were more engaging than others.

The hotels all came with breakfast but it should be noted that some start serving breakfast 7am and later which made it difficult on some days to get a good breakfast because the pickup was either before 7am or before. While some had on the go breakfast it was very substandard.

Some of the hotels need to be upgraded or better maintained. ”
