Discover Niagara Falls on an escorted tour

Combine Niagara Falls with New York, Washington and Philadelphia

Niagara Falls, located on the border between the United States and Canada, is one of North America's most famous natural wonders. Comprised of several cascades, including Horseshoe Falls, American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, they were formed around 12,000 years ago at the end of the previous Ice Age. Thousands of visitors from the US, Canada and beyond visit each year, and many people choose to enjoy a 'Maid of the Mist' cruise, which takes you so close to the falls that you can feel the spray and experience the brute power of nature. Find out more about visiting Niagara Falls, and browse our multi-day escorted tours that visit the area, alongside New York City, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Toronto and so much more!

Maid of the Mist cruise

American Falls

Maid of the Mist is a popular boat tour agency that operates on the American side of the falls (though it is also possible to board from the Canadian side). The tour predominantly takes places on the US side, but also pops briefly into Canada. After booking your ticket (no need to do this on an escorted tour!), guests ride the elevator down to the dock and are given their classic blue poncho to keep dry from the mist. Choose from the covered section of the boat, or the open-air deck, if you don't mind a soaking! We say it's all part of the experience.

Tours vary, but typically, you will first visit the American Falls, hearing the thundering roar of the water and seeing the cascade up close. Then it's on to Bridal Veil Falls and finally, the base of Horseshoe Falls. By far the biggest waterfall at Niagara, Horseshoe Falls is more than 50 metres high and 820 metres wide. Your Maid of the Mist cruise boat will move into the curve of the falls, where the noise is deafening and you can feel the mist from the falls. This is the most exhilarating part of the tour. The boat will spend a few minutes here to allow all passengers to experience the force of the falls, before returning to dry land. The entire cruise lasts for around 20 minutes. Remember, the Maid of the Mist cruise is INCLUDED on all of our Niagara Falls USA tours.
