From classic destinations including Rome, Florence and Venice, to the delights of Puglia and laid-back Sicily, our escorted Italy group tours get you to the heart of this popular European destination. Travelling aboard a deluxe coach, you'll enjoy a well-balanced mix of included sightseeing with a local guide, and free time to discover destinations at your own pace. How long should I spend in Italy?
Italy is a destination where time seems to stand still amidst its rich tapestry of architecture, landscapes, and cultural heritage. While our best-selling tours typically last 8 days or less, providing a tantalizing glimpse into Italy's wonders, we recommend considering longer itineraries for a more immersive experience. Our shorter tours offer a perfect introduction for those with limited time or incorporating Italy into a broader European adventure. However, delving deeper into Italy's diverse regions with extended stays of up to two weeks allows travelers to fully appreciate the nuances and contrasts between them. Whether you're exploring the canals of Venice, indulging in Tuscan cuisine, or marveling at the ancient ruins of Pompeii, Italy beckons with an endless array of experiences waiting to be savored.
What are the typical group sizes?
Group sizes vary from tour to tour, you will find a range of small group tours from 15-20 people to larger group tours up to 50. Depending on the season typically you will find from 30-50 people on the majority of the coach tours. There is lots of free time on all of our tours, so you will have plenty of opportunities to explore destinations with your partner, friends, or relatives in between our guided sightseeing excursions. And there are some optional excursions, to the Amalfi Coast and to see the Leaning Tower in Pisa - not everyone on the tour will join these excursions so groups will be smaller.
Do you offer small group tours?
We do offer smaller group tours ranging from 15-20 people. Smaller group tours include Milan to Cinque Terre & Rome, Best of Northern Italy, Lake Como & the Swiss Alps, Scenic Switzerland & Northern Italy and Puglia, Pompeii and Amalfi. The maximum group size on our Milan, Lakes & Alps by Train tour is also smaller, at 25.
Will I be escorted by a tour guide?
Our Italy tours offer a great mix of included sightseeing with an expert guide at Italy's main highlights and free time for you to further discover destinations at your own pace. Free time can range from an hour or two to entire days, allowing you to visit attractions that aren't included on the tour, or to unwind at your hotel - it's entirely up to you! Please note that in some towns and cities, you will need to make your own way to our accommodation after free time. Always make use of licensed taxis or ride-hailing apps such as Uber. What language will tour guides speak?
Our tours will be led by English-speaking Italian guides.
Do your tour packages include flights?
International flights to Italy are not included in the price of our tours. Our tour packages however include all travel costs as part of the tour. This provides our customers with more flexibility to travel to other destinations within Europe or spend extra days exploring Italy on their own.
