Frequently asked questions
What is included in these day trips from Reykjavik?
If you book one of our Iceland day tours, then you will be collected and dropped off at a designated point in Reykjavik near to where you are staying. You will then embark on your tour with included sightseeing and activities as per the itinerary, fully escorted by expert guides. And you will be dropped off back in Reykjavik after your tour. See the inclusions section of each trip for tour-specific details!
Can you do Iceland in 1 day?
Iceland is a small country, but even so, you would struggle to cover the whole country in a day! However, with efficient day tour itineraries, you can cover great swathes of Iceland, for example the popular Golden Circle route, or the country's south coast. As a general rule, 2 - 3 days is enough to cover the more popular southern half of Iceland, whilst if you also want to venture north, you need more like 5 - 8 days to fully explore Iceland.
Are guided tours in Iceland worth it?
The benefits of guided tours in Iceland are numerous. Firstly, you will have an expert guide on hand to explain the wonders and complexities of Iceland's natural treasures. You will also have all of your transportation included, so you don't need to worry about how to get from A to B. And in the unlikely event that anything goes wrong such as a breakdown or inclement weather, you will have an expert on hand to help. Plus, you will get to meet similar like-minded travellers on your tour.
What is the group size on these Iceland day trips?
Our day tours from Reykjavik are small group tours, with the maximum group size ranging from 14 - 19. This is small enough to feel intimate, but large enough to be a fun and sociable Iceland touring experience.
When is the best time to visit Iceland?
For optimal chances of witnessing the mesmerizing Northern Lights in Iceland, plan your visit between November and February, when the winter nights are at their darkest, offering prime conditions for spotting this celestial display. However, if your Icelandic adventure is focused on experiencing snow-fed waterfalls in full flow, unwinding at the Blue Lagoon, and taking leisurely walks along the black sands of the Reykjanes Peninsula on the south coast, then aim for the extended daylight hours of June through August for a more vibrant and sunlit exploration.
