Welcome to Vietnam! Upon arrival at Ho Chi Minh City's international airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in.
The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Explore the vibrant streets of Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, and immerse yourself in its rich history. Visit fascinating museums to learn about Vietnam's past, try street food, or simply wander through the bustling streets lined with iconic architecture.
Day 2 Explore Saigon
Day 2 Explore Saigon
Today, embark on a guided tour of Ho Chi Minh City with an English-speaking local guide. Begin your journey at the iconic Reunification Palace, formerly the political hub of Vietnam. Explore the museum within, including the renowned "War Room" and the room where North Vietnamese forces officially took control in 1975, marking the end of the Vietnam War.
Next, discover Notre Dame Cathedral, a symbol of Catholicism in Vietnam, and the historic Saigon Central Post Office, boasting stunning French colonial architecture. Then, wander the lively atmosphere of Ben Thanh Market, a bustling marketplace.
Conclude your day with a stroll through the streets of Pho Tay, known as the "Streets of Foreigners," where backpackers from around the globe gather. Enjoy Vietnam's famed street food offerings, from noodle soups to savory pancakes, and unwind at a corner café with a refreshing drink!
Day 3 Mekong Delta

Ho Chi Minh - Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh. After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a journey to the famous Mekong Delta, admiring its many waterways. You'll first head to Ben Tre, where you'll explore local culture with visits to a traditional brickwork factory and workshops specialising in crafting coconut products and sleep mats.
Leaving the canals behind, hop aboard a quaint motor cart (known as xe lôi) to traverse shaded pathways, offering glimpses of rice fields and vegetable plains. For lunch, a home-cooked authentic Vietnamese lunch awaits, prepared by a welcoming local family. As the day draws to a close, leisurely cruise along palm-fringed creeks aboard a traditional rowboat, before bidding farewell to the delta and returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 4 Cu Chi Tunnels
Day 4 Cu Chi Tunnels
Ho Chi Minh - Cu Chi (Ben Dinh) - Ho Chi Minh. Today, journey to the Ben Dinh section of the Cu Chi Tunnels. Following an insightful introductory video and observations of various mantraps, remnants of American tanks, and numerous bomb craters, you'll embark on an hour-long exploration of the intricate maze of tunnels, gaining firsthand insight into how the Viet Cong thrived within this underground network.

The tour itself had three days of activities. We enjoyed the excursions outside the City very much. The information about the City from the guide was very off-putting and misleading in light of our experience in the City. Please focus on facts and less anti-Vietnam propaganda and personal politics.
