Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Halifax!

Arrive in Halifax and check in to your accommodation, which is ideally located in downtown Halifax, near the coast.

Overnight: Halifax

Day 2 - Halifax at leisure

Today is completely free for you to explore Halifax at your own pace. As the capital of Nova Scotia, this vibrant city is filled with culture and rich history, offering plenty of activities and sights to enjoy. You could visit the Halifax Citadel, explore the waterfront boardwalk, or take a day trip to see the iconic lighthouse at nearby Peggy's Cove.

Day 3 - Halifax to Baddeck & boat tour

Halifax - Baddeck. You depart Halifax with an included transfer to New Glasgow, where you will meet your tour guide and fellow travellers. We proceed to Cape Breton Island, known as the Scotland of North America, via the Canso Causeway. In the evening, we enjoy stunning views of the Bras d'Or Lake from the water during a sightseeing boat tour of this tidal estuary.

Day 4 - The Cabot Trail

We embark on a breathtaking journey through one of North America's most scenic routes by exploring the Cabot Trail. This drive takes us along Cape Breton's northern shore, revealing the rugged beauty of its rocky landscape and leading up to the magnificent plateaus of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Along the way, various lookout points provide unforgettable views of the island's dramatic coastline, so keep your camera ready.

We also visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site to learn about the many accomplishments of this genius who made his home on the island.

Day 5 - Baddeck to Halifax

Baddeck - Halifax. Today, we visit the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, an impressive reconstruction that represents one-fifth of the 1744 settlement in New France. We proceed along the shore of Bras d'Or Lake to the mainland, then return to Halifax for our final night in the Maritimes.
