Fantastic! It was an incredible experience. The places included on the itinerary were just right. The right places in order to get a feel for the countries we visited. I can't stop telling my family and friends all about it. I feel like we did so much and saw so much. I was hesitant to book a group tour in case the group was too large or didn't have similar travelling styles. Perhaps it was a bit lucky, but we ended up in a group of only eight who were all very similar. With Cesar's leadership, it was a wonderful dynamic. Cesar was great to customise our tour by arranging private transportation with additional stops/sights along the way. His restaurant picks were so good! We ended up knowing that not only should you go with him for dinner, you should order what he ordered! Always delicious! I was interested in a couple excursions that no one else in the group wanted to do. Cesar was very helpful to arrange them just for me. The only negative was the one hotel in Copan. It didn't seem to have the same cleanliness standards as all the others and lacked AC (not terrible, but far more comfortable with!) Thank you! ”

Gina was an absolutely fantastic tour leader - she was energetic, fun-loving, extremely passionate about her job and the countries we visited and could not have done more to make sure we all had a great time.

I made friends of similar age on this tour and there was an excellent mixture of beaches, socialising, history and culture incorporated into this tour. I was able to get a real feel for the countries I visited and the three countries on this tour could not have been more varied which made it all the more adventurous. The hotels were lovely - often with pools and rooms to a high standard.

I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get a better idea of Central America as these are three fascinating, different and beautiful countries with an organised tour leader and excellent customer service directly from OnTheGo. ”

Cristobal did a great job. Was always smiling. Was very well organised. Kept the group in good spirits. Went over and above the call of duty. So for example he found us lots of nice restaurants (which was not part of the itinerary so I consider this a pleasant bonus). He was also very helpful when I had a couple of difficulties during the tour. Cristobal has a good temperament for being a tour guide - happy, positive, approachable and organised.”

I think the tour stayed one day too long in La Fortuna and Tourtugera. Otherwise I loved it.

I was very impressed with the Mayan Empires Tour. Both Tour Leaders (Lisa & Nancy) were professional, knowledgeable, helpful and loads of fun. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in travelling to Central America. The only thing that I was disappointed with was that breakfasts weren't included with the accommodation.”  

First off, my tour guide was great. I'm gluten intolerant and she made sure I ate well. She also made my birthday very special. It was great getting to know her as well. I'd go on another tour with her.

I had a lot of fun on the tour. Although, Costa Rica is more than $50 a day and I don't think it should be advertised as $30-$50. That's the only negative thing I have to say.

We got really lucky with the rain since we went in rainy season. I was disappointed in Boquete but, the other cities made up for it. Thank you Hollie for booking everything for me. And thank you Becky for being a great tour guide! (Ps. She also barbecued for us and did a great job)”

I really enjoyed the 9 day 'Wild Costa Rica' tour i did that started on 22nd Feb. I played it safe by arriving in San Jose on the 20th to give me enough time to settle and look around San Jose before the trip officially started. When i was in the hotel lobby early on the 22nd the guide Cesar saw me and asked me if i was one of the party and he introduced himself when i said yes. I found the printout that was up in the lobby about the start of the tour useful too.

I found the tour was well organised and timsecales for meeting up on certain mornings for travel and optional guide reasonable and liked the flexibility of tour to spend time doing things you wanted if you didn't opt for any optional tours. I especially liked the way Cesar organised meals out in advance so we just walked in to various eateries and had a table of up to 14 already reserved.

I can't of any major criticisms of the tour apart from the accommodation we stayed in for 2 nights in La Fortuna called Cabinas Oriuma was a little poor with a lot of noise from nearby streets a little too audible throughout the night and when it rained heavily it sounded like the roof was paper thin and i and others commented we didn't get the best nights sleep.

Overall i had a really good time though and thank all involved for organising it.

Tour: Was fine, except for final hotel in La Fortuna, which was too basic, very noisy and worst of all, required a US$10 per night charge for air conditioning, and US$5 for the use of the safe. None of the other hotels had this charge and it left a very nasty taste.

Guide: Cesar was quite competent, but slightly "behind the game". I am aware that the description of the tour made it quite clear that clients would have to carry their own luggage. In practice, this was, on one occasion, very hard (uphill for I/2 km in boiling heat) and it would have been very easy to have suggested a taxi. Cesar also relied on the young men in the party to load and unload the baggage into/from the mini-buses; this was very nice for us, but I'm not sure what the young men felt, as Cesar didn't help at all.”

Wonderful tour. Every hotel had a pool. Met great people in my age range. Very fast paced. San Ignacio was probably not worth stopping at, but it was probably just because all tours were cancelled due to rain the evening before (horseback riding was the only option). Could have spent another day in Caye Calker. Didn't receive any history about the locations other than the private tours that we paid separately for.”
