Itinerary

Day 1 - Glendalough, Dunamase & Dingle

Dublin - Glendalough - Dunamase - Dingle. Our wild Ireland adventure starts as we depart the capital and stop first at the charming village of Adare, known as 'Ireland's Prettiest Village'. Heading south through the majestic Wicklow Mountains, we arrive at the famed Glendalough. Take in the breathtaking scenery of the mountains and lakes, and uncover the history of Glendalough at the visitor centre.

We continue westward, making a pitstop in the serene market town of Kilcullen for a lunch break. We then take in the Rock of Dunamase and its castle ruins, situated at an advantageous defensive point overlooking the ancient plains of County Laois.

Finally, we brave the winds of County Kerry and set foot onto the rugged Dingle Peninsula, where Irish language and culture reign supreme. Our base for the next two nights is in pretty Dingle town, known for its colourful houses and warm hospitality.

Please note: Check-in closes at 08:15 on day 1 (tour departs at 08:30) - Dublin Nassau Street Pick Up, Opposite the Kilkenny Shop, Nassau St, Dublin.

Accommodation: Seaview Heights, Quayside B&B, The Waterfront or similar

Overnight: Dingle

Day 2 - Exploring the Dingle Peninsula

We spend the day exploring the wild and windswept Dingle Peninsula and the Wild Atlantic Way - one of the world's most stunning coastlines. The Dingle Peninsula is rich in culture, history, and heritage, which the locals protect and are eager to share with visitors. Our expert tour guide will show you the most notable sites on the peninsula, including Conor Pass, Tochar Maothaithe, Gallarus Oratory and Slea Head, home to a series of ancient forts and dwellings.

We also see the ancient and mysterious beehive huts, spherical and made of stone. The houses are believed to date back to somewhere between the eighth and twelfth centuries. They are thought to have been used as dwellings by the hermit monks and followers of Saint Peter, though nobody is absolutely certain!

After our day of exploring we return to Dingle, where the evening is at leisure - time for dinner in a cosy pub and a Guinness or two?

Accommodation: Seaview Heights, Quayside B&B, The Waterfront or similar

Overnight: Dingle
Meals: Breakfast

Day 3 - Killarney National Park & Rock of Cashel

Dingle - Killarney National Park - Rock of Cashel - Dublin. Leaving Dingle behind, we make a stop at beautiful Inch Beach, which offers views of Killarney National Park and the Kerry Mountains. We then head into the national park itself, admiring some of the area's lakes and making the short hike to Torc Waterfall.

There is free time for lunch in Killarney before we drive on to the Rock of Cashel. This incredible group of medieval buildings includes a cathedral and Round Tower, all perched dramatically on a hilltop - just imagine what it looked like in its heyday! The final leg of the journey is a relaxing drive back to Dublin, where our tour comes to an end.

Please note: This tour ends at 19:00 - Dublin Nassau Street Drop Off, Opposite the Kilkenny Shop, Nassau St, Dublin.

On this tour, you will stay in bed and breakfast properties (B&Bs). These are usually smaller residential properties, with just a handful of guest rooms. You’ll have a bedroom, bathroom and often, access to a communal dining room for breakfast. Rooms will always be clean and comfortable, with a private bathroom. Bathrooms are usually en-suite, but on rare occasions, access may be via a communal hallway. This means that the bathroom will still be private and only for your personal use, but it is not en-suite (located in the room). You will need to leave the room to use the bathroom.
