Itinerary

Day 1 - Nairobi to Amboseli

Nairobi - Amboseli National Park. Welcome to Kenya. Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative and your driver guide. After a short safari briefing, head straight out on safari, driving south to Amboseli National Park and arriving at the Amboseli Ol Tukai Lodge in time for a late lunch. Relax at the lodge before heading out in search of wildlife on a game drive later this afternoon, returning to the lodge for dinner and a chance to discuss the days’ highlights.

Amboseli National Park lies at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro, and the park provides optimal vantage points to admire the snow-capped summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Its delicate ecosystem sustains diverse wildlife, with a particular highlight being the large herds of elephants. During the dry season, the park's swamps and springs, nourished by underground rivers originating from Kilimanjaro's melting snow, serve as vital watering holes for both wildlife and birds.

Overnight: Amboseli National Park
Meals: Lunch, Dinner

Day 2 - Amboseli game drives

Spend the day exploring Amboseli National Park and going in search of wildlife on morning and afternoon game drives. We suggest an early wake-up call so you can head out on a game drive to catch the animals as they wake up to start the day. The early morning is also when the animals are at their most active before the heat of the day sets in. Back at the lodge; breakfast is served with a wonderful view of Mount Kilimanjaro. After lunch, we suggest that you relax and enjoy your surroundings before your late afternoon game drive, returning to the lodge for dinner and your final evening in Amboseli.

Overnight: Amboseli National Park
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 - Tsavo West National Park

Amboseli National Park - Tsavo West National Park. After breakfast bid farewell to Amboseli and drive to beautiful Tsavo West National Park in Kenya's Coast Province, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. This afternoon go in search of wildlife on a game drive in Kenya's largest national park, which is home to all of Africa's Big Five - lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes.

Stretching across more than 9000 square kilometres, Tsavo West National Park is one of Kenya's most remarkable wildlife reserves. The park boasts breath-taking natural landscapes encompassing volcanic peaks, swamps, forests, plains, lakes, natural springs and wooded grasslands. The otherworldly Shetani Lava Flows, named after the devil, sprawl across the savannah, adding a unique touch to the scenery. Additional captivating natural features include the impressive Chaimu Crater, the panoramic Roaring Rocks, and the picturesque Mzima Springs, which serves as the primary water source for the Tsavo River.

Overnight: Tsavo West National Park
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 - Tsavo West games drives

Spend a full day in Tsavo West National Park with a morning and afternoon game drive. Tsavo West is dominated by the short grass of the Savannah, making game viewing wonderful at any time of year. The park is often referred to as the 'land of man eaters' due to its large population of lions. Other predators include leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals and African wild dogs.

Overnight: Tsavo National Park
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Days 5-8 - Diani Beach

Tsavo West National Park - Diani Beach. After an incredible few days of wildlife watching it's time for four days of blissful rest and relaxation at the beach. Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before you check out and travel on to Diani Beach on Kenya's magnificent Indian Ocean coast, 30kms south of Mombasa. With its gorgeous palm trees, powder white sand, and glistening azure waters, Diani Beach is one of Kenya's most popular beach resorts. Check into your beachfront hotel on the 25km long, dazzlingly white shores of Diani Beach, amidst a lush coastal rainforest.

The next four days are free for you to spend at leisure. Enjoy the hotel facilities, soak up the sunshine and swim in the crystal clear sea. There are plenty of optional activities on offer at Diani Beach and the exquisite coral reefs are perfect for snorkelling, scuba diving and boat safaris. Divers are likely to see turtles, mantas, barracuda and, if lucky, possibly even the elusive whale shark, the planet’s largest animal. If you're keen to see more wildlife, consider visiting the Colobus Conservation which is a wonderful sanctuary for the fascinating endangered Colobus monkeys.
