Tour Reviews

Travel was uncomfortable and for many painful. I did not expect to be riding in a vehicle that resembled a heavy duty truck than a tour vehicle and had no A/C. We travelled for long hours in very hot temperatures (34-38C.) on gravel roads many of which were very rough. As a result we had the windows open and closed them when a vehicle went by to keep out the dust. A few people developed back problems. One person rode with the driver in the truck cab after two or three days and stayed there for the rest of the trip. I was shocked to learn that there was no toilet on the bus given many of us were seniors and we were travelling many hours with no or limited facilities. Many were very uncomfortable including some women and anyone requiring a number 2 on the side of the road. The two people with diarrhrea were not amused. I am very disappointed that no A/C or toilet was mentioned in the brochures.

Enjoyed the tour and itinerary. Was disappointed with the choice of transportation- a truck / bus with no air conditioning ! With temperatures of 37 and long travel days(6-9 hrs) and seniors in the group as a retired nurse was watching for signs of heat stroke and dehydration in the group! This would not have been necessary with the transportation that was promised in the tour package.

Your was good and tour guide was excellent!!! What was not excellent was your bus and the road conditions!!! In the itinerary you mention that the bus did not have air conditioning!!! I think when most of the people are over 65 bus should have A/C and a bus that has good enough suspension to handle rough roads!!! Taking the bus into the game parks is not a good idea roads are a way to rough for your bus!!! Two people ended up with sore backs because of your bus and the roads!!!

Adam was an amazing guide. He was kind, funny, informative and listened to our individual needs. He was a safe and effective driver and was never without a smile on his face. His knowledge and passion for his work was clearly evident. Highly recommend him. The accommodations were varied and served our purposes well. The food everywhere was great as was the staff - especially at Swamp Stop. The only complaint I have is that the bus wasn't air conditioned. Travelling with others who were 70+ years old, it was concerning to not have it, but we managed as best as we could. There were many long hot days on bumpy and dusty roads, so anything you can do to make the driving part more comfortable for future guests I am sure will be appreciated. The parks were incredible and we have memories for life. What an amazing itinerary. Working with Samantha was great too - she was able to accommodate our request for a private jeep on safari and it made the world of difference to making our trip that much more amazing being able to capture photos with freedom to move around the vehicle. Thank you for everything.

Overall, the tour was good, and the itinerary was as announced. On the Go Tour staff Caylin went out of her way to help me with my booking needs, which I really appreciated. The tour leader and tour bus driver Adam was excellent. He was patient, helped with our individual needs, and was an excellent driver. The airport/hotel transfers were prompt and efficient. As a vegetarian, I was able to find something to eat at breakfast and dinner, and it was not a problem. There wasn't much of a tour at Victoria Falls as we individually visited the falls, and there was no tour in Windhoek as I would have very much liked a city tour there due to lack of public transportation and easy access to taxis to see the city on our own. The wildlife safaris, river cruises, and the optional tours were good. Two nights in Swamp Post in Botswana was unnecessary as we did the same river cruise several times and saw the same wildlife. There were long bus drives between places and sometimes on bumpy roads and I expected this but if one has motion sickness, this should be noted. One of the major disappointments was the accommodations in Swamp Post in Botswana and Desert Camp in Sossusvlei. When I booked this tour, I clearly mentioned that I did not want to stay in tent accommodations A canvas tent accommodation is not similar to a hotel-like accommodations! In Sossusvlei in Namibia, the Desert Camp accommodations were hotel-like accommodations and were fine but for breakfast and dinner, we had to be driven to another lodge 15 minutes away and this made it very inconvenient. If the accommodations were all in hotels as promised in the itinerary, trip notes, and in the email and phone correspondences, the meals were served in the same place as the accommodations, and if there was a short city tour in Windhoek, this tour would have been excellent.
